At least by doing so, you will be able to keep tabs with the customers who opted out and get to understand what they are up to.

Different businesses collect customer data for various purposes. Some might resell it to third parties while most of them mainly use it in-house. Others do share the information with their strategic partners. That is all good to say. The question here is, do the customers know how you will be using the data that they submit to your business?
